The staff of the group changed nine times, about 40 million CD-s and over 65 million singles were sold. Boney M reached the phenomenon success in the countries of Eastern Europe, and especially in USSR, where they one of the first foreign artists (but they were not allowed to sing "Rasputin" because of the country's ideology). The group performed on the Red Square and even made a video there.
