About Bronski Beat
The three gay roommates from south west London named their band Bronski Beat as a play on Roxy Music and the name of the main protagonist from The Tin Drum, award wining novel by Gunter Grass. Steve Bronski was also the name of one of the members of Bronski Beat, along with Jimmy Somerville and Larry Steinbachek.
