Carl Perkins is a well-known rock, country and rockabilly singer and songwriter that originally comes from Tiptonville, Tennessee. Carl Perkins successfully auditioned for Sam Phillips at Sun Records early in October of 1954. Carl's original song "Movie Magg" was the one that sold Phillips. "Movie Magg" and "Turn Around" were released on the Phillips owned Flip label March 19, 1955.
