Scottish dream-pop band Cocteau Twins took their name from a song by Simple Minds, another Scottish alt rock band. Perhaps even more than Simple Minds, the Cocteau Twins were extremely influential on the scene, with a long list of alt rock bands following in their path and adopting their general style of ambient pop, atmospheric and stylish rock.
