About Mott The Hoople
In rock and roll, connections will get you far. When Mott the Hoople were considering breaking up due to a lack of commercial success, early in 1972, after four semi-successful album releases, it was David Bowie who came up and helped them get their grips. Offering them one of his songs, which they turned down, Bowie is said to have sat on the floor and written All the Young Dudes, the song that would kick start the Mott the Hoople career anew.
