White rappers are something of an anomaly in the rap world, and it is to his credit that Vanilla Ice decided to take the plunge. Being of a middle class background, Vanilla Ice did not have the rough past that other, black, artists did, so he invented it. His first single, "Ice Babay" went to the top of the charts and spent sixteen weeks there. Perhaps white men can jump, after all.
